...beware of chinese hairbands...while going through my multiply account, i just couldn't stand but post this article!
Beware when you are travelling to China. Just try to be careful when you are buying hairbands down the road... Who knows what it is made from? These hairbands were made from used condoms and threads. That was so disgusting! I would not want to use them!!!
BEIJING (AFP) - Used condoms are being recycled into hair bands in southern China, threatening to spread sexually-transmittable diseases they were originally meant to prevent, state media reported Tuesday.
In the latest example of potentially harmful Chinese-made products, rubber hair bands have been found in local markets and beauty salons in Dongguan and Guangzhou cities in southern Guangdong province, China Daily newspaper said.
'These cheap and colourful rubber bands and hair ties sell well... threatening the health of local people,' it said.
Despite being recycled, the hair bands could still contain bacteria and viruses, it said.
'People could be infected with AIDS, (genital) warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while waving their hair into plaits or buns,' the paper quoted a local dermatologist who gave only his surname, Dong, as saying.
A bag of ten of the recycled bands sells for just 25 sen (three cents), much cheaper than others on the market, accounting for their popularity, the paper said.
A government official was quoted as saying recycling condoms was illegal.
China 's manufacturing industry has been repeatedly tarnished this year by a string of scandals involving shoddy or dangerous goods made for both domestic and foreign markets.
In response, it launched a public relations blitz this summer aimed at playing up efforts to strengthen monitoring systems.

...updates!!!...Yup... That's me alright. Hehehe... Since I became a home buddy lately, I decided to watch David's basketball game last night. Kuya Rex, Kuya Paolo and Ruth also watched the game. The game started around 10:30pm. It was Phase 9 vs. Tanyag. Phase 9 won! Hehe.. We didn't expect that there would be lots of people watching. But hey, it was a good game and a close one too! David had this teammate who's about 6'2 in height and has a bulky built. He is an advantage for David's team. Dave only played for 2 mins.! One block and one missed shot! Their coach is pretty good. He was able to let all of the team members play and still won! While watching the game, Ruth made her "simpleng parinig" to Kuya Rex that watching the game made her hungry. Thus, after the game, the four of us, twins and the two Kuyas, headed off to 711. We bought four jumbo bola-bola siopaos, as seen in the pic. It was a pretty good night!
When I woke up this morning, this is what I first saw! The cute Baby J was playing with powder!! She got some on her hair, forehead, cheeks, arms and even her legs! Hehe.. As seen in the pic, she looks like she was rolled in flour and is ready to be fried! Hehe...
They, Baby J and Mama G, will be going to the hospital for her check up with the Pedia. She's been coughing for a few days now and sounded like there's phlegm. She's been vomiting almost every night since Monday. She vomits when she coughs and tries to clear up her throat. Her mom's been frustrated 'cause she's been vomiting, thus making her lose weight. She isn't eating enough food nor milk to replace what she vomited. She's really thin now. I hope she'll gain those weight back.
Last Saturday, Kuya Rex went to his office for their vaccination day. It was for Influenza. He got his shot and paid for two other vaccines, which he bought home and was given to us, Ruth and me. He had refrigerant gels to keep those vaccines cool while traveling. The vaccine is already prepared in the syringe so it's ready to be injected. Ruth and I were joking that we'd be the one injecting the vaccine through IM since we already had our return demonstrations during our summer classes. But we're only joking around. Of course we're still not licensed and not used to injecting meds. or treatments. So, within the week, we'll be either going to the hospital or the Barangay Health Center to have the vaccine injected.
This is all for now.. Ciao!!!ü

.. boredom..."Boredom is a condition characterized by perception of one's environment as dull, tedious, and lacking stimuli."
My summer classes just ended last Friday, 11 May. And the next semester will start on June 13 pa. I have a longer break pala than what i had expected. Getting some time off from the toxicity of the school stuff is exciting. But if you've got nothing to do but stay home all day long and stare at the pc is a bummer.
Last Monday, 14 May, Jr and his family had their annual out-of-the-country trip. They're going to Australia. They'll be staying there for a week. They're staying at the Legend's Hotel in the Gold Coast. First stop daw nila is Brisbane. He's been texting me their daily scheds and some of their adventures. Nakakatuwa yung mga text messages nya! How I wish i could also see those sights that he mentioned. Sounds like masyado ata akong bitter... Ewan ko ba.. hehe.. Inggit lang siguro ako kasi stuck ako dito sa house... =P
Currently the super kulit Baby J is sleeping. She's really been making pa-cute lately and does her "bisyo" on a regular basis. Talagang everyday ang bisyo n'ya. Sabi ni Tito she's really acting like a brat lately. Especially when she's with her mom, Mama G. But with us, Kuya Rex, Dave, Ruthay, Kuya Paolo, Tito and me, her "pa-cute moves" doesn't take effect! haha... She's really growing up fast. Ang bilis na talaga tumakbo and when she speaks, her pronunciations are clearer than before. Ang arte pa nga when she calls her mom eh. Talagang may tono pa.

Issues with Ruth have been resolved in the household except for the one with Tito. I don't think that referring to her as "p**p**" is reasonable just because she made mistakes. I know that what Ruth did is too much. But calling her that is RUDE! Not just rude but also degrading her as a person. I respect Tito for what he has done for our Mom and our family. But with what he said, it seemed like those good memories of him as an ideal dad were erased. It really hurt Ruth. And when she's hurt, I also get hurt. "Alam ko na mali ako, pero hindi n'ya ako kailangang tawaging ganun... Kung si Mama nga hindi ako tinawag na ganun, bakit s'ya kayang-kaya n'ya?" those were what Ruth uttered to me after reading the message from Tito.
Tito's really been acting strange lately. Ang kulit n'ya masyado. Hindi makaantay to the point na naiiinis ka na. But still, he won't stop from making kulit. Ang mga books dito sa bahay ginulo na naman n'ya. He brought some of our "pinaglumaan daw na mga books" to Pagsanjan and gave them to his niece. Ok lang naman sana yun if he told us first. Sinabihan n'ya lang ako nung nakabox na yung mga books. Wala na'ko magawa. Basta, he acts weird lately talaga. May be he's just missing Mama too much. Hay...
I'll update you guys na lang soon.. Ciao.
